Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff could receive a staggering £15.9million in compensation from Manchester United after they were sacked last month.
Amorim, 41, was axed by United on January 5 after just 14 months in charge at Old Trafford, with his five coaches also departing the club.
Daily Mail Sport revealed he walked away with a £10m pay-off after he was summoned to the club’s Carrington training base and dismissed by director of football Jason Wilcox and chief executive Omar Berrada.
A filing to the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday revealed removing Amorim and his coaches could cost up to £15.9m.
The figure stated in the submission is a maximum number, with the exact amount to be determined by factors including whether Amorim lands another job within a certain timeframe.
Amorim’s compensation package took the total cost of hiring and firing him to nearly £27m.

United have spent nearly £30million on the sacking of two managers and one executive in just 15 months
United bought out his contract at Sporting Lisbon in October 2024 for £8.3m, and paid another £900,000 so he could start work early. He signed a £6.5m-a-year deal until June 2027, meaning his pay-off for the remainder of his contract is around £10.05m.
The club had already splashed out £14.5m following the sacking of Erik ten Hag and departure of sporting director Dan Ashworth.
Should they be forced to compensate Amorim and his staff in full, it will take the total United have spent on sacking managers and executives to nearly £30m in just 15 months.
Amorim left United the day after an explosive press conference following the 1-1 draw with Leeds, where he openly criticised club bosses. He clashed with Wilcox in a meeting three days before the trip to Elland Road.
United took the decision amid concerns the team could fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Amorim was replaced on an interim basis by Darren Fletcher before the club appointed Michael Carrick, who has won five and drawn one of his six games in charge to boost United’s chances of returning to European football’s top table.
The Red Devils are fourth having won the most points – 18 – of any Premier League team this calendar year.
The top five in the Premier League will secure a Champions League place next season and United are three points clear of Liverpool in sixth.
Amorim won only 25 of his 63 games in charge and finished 15th in the Premier League before losing the Europa League final to Tottenham in May.
