Official: VfL Wolfsburg extend contract of Pavao Pervan

The Austrian goalkeeper has decided to stay at Wolfsburg as the back-up goalkeeper for another season.

Veteran shot-stopper Pavao Pervan has committed to VfL Wolfsburg for a ninth season, the club officially confirmed this afternoon.

The 38-year-old Austrian has extended his contract with the the Lower Saxony club for another year until June 30, 2027. 

“I am incredibly happy that my journey with VfL Wolfsburg continues,” Pervan said, in a statement on the club’s website.

“I want to give something back to the club and the people who support us every day with my attitude and commitment, in recognition of the trust and appreciation shown to me.

“It is not something to take for granted, and that makes me all the more proud,” the experienced goalkeeper added.

Pervan initially joined from Austrian Bundesliga side LASK Linz in July 2018, going on to make 45 appearances for Wolfsburg. 

“Personalities like Pavo are indispensable in every squad and every dressing room,” said VfL sporting director Pirmin Schwegler. 

We are delighted that he remains a pillar of the team with his professionalism, loyalty, and commitment,” he added.
