Atalanta were ready to pay €25m to sign Yunus Musah, but the move is stalling after Ardon Jashari’s injury, so La Dea have resumed talks with Genoa for Morten Frendrup.

Jashari’s fibula injury may convince Milan to stick with Musah, even if Atalanta were ready to sign the American midfielder in a €25m transfer package.

It remains to be seen whether Milan will release the player in the coming days, but Atalanta have already moved for another midfield target: Genoa’s Frendrup.

The Denmark international has a similar price tag to Musah, and Atalanta are making their assessments, waiting to learn the final decision on Musah from Milan.

Atalanta midfielder Marco Brescianini has attracted interest from Napoli, but the Partenopei have never been in advanced talks with the Italian.

Atalanta started the season with a 1-1 draw at home against newly promoted side Pisa, while Milan lost 2-1 to Cremonese and will visit Lecce tonight.
