Now that Marc Pubill has agreed an Atletico Madrid move, Milan are raising their bid for Strasbourg’s Guéla Doué to €22m, but it probably won’t be enough.

The Rossoneri have secured their new left-back in the form of Pervis Estupinan, who should land in Italy tomorrow for his medical after a €17m plus €2m add-ons deal with Brighton and Hove Albion.

However, the search for a right-back is proving much more difficult, as they decided against pursuing Pubill even after making him undergo preliminary medical tests.

Instead, this evening Atletico Madrid announced they had agreed terms with UD Almeria, reportedly for €16m plus €4m add-ons and a 15 per cent cut of the sell-on fee.

Now Calciomercato.com claim that Milan will send a new and improved offer to Strasbourg for Doué, after the opening €18m bid was rejected.

This one is believed to be worth €22m including performance-related bonuses, but still a long way off the €30m asking price.
