Erik ten Hag might lose yet another star player before the start of his career at Leverkusen, with AC Milan showing concrete interest in Granit Xhaka.
This would be a huge blow to Leverkusen: AC Milan are showing concrete interest in their leader and midfield maestro Granit Xhaka.
The 32-year-old is open for another transfer in his career and is reportedly keen to join the Italian giants. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Milan will follow up on their interest with a formal proposal next week.
Xhaka has never played in Italy before: he went from Basel to Gladbach, then to Arsenal and after that to Leverkusen. At the farewell ceremony of his brother Taulant Xhaka for Basel, Granit has already promised to “come back and end his career in Basel”.
The Swiss international has played 99 games for Leverkusen and was crucial for their success in the past two seasons. After already losing Jonathan Tah, Jeremie Frimpong, Xabi Alonso and most likely Florian Wirtz and Alejandro Grimaldo as well, Xhaka’s exit would be yet another setback for Bayer.
