Lele Adani has revealed that legendary former Inter defender Marco Materazzi was among the Nerazzurri supporters who tried to leave before full-time during the Champions League semi-final second leg victory over Barcelona on Tuesday night.

Inter secured a spot in the Champions League final, where they will meet Paris Saint-Germain, with a 4-3 win over Barcelona in San Siro, which settled a 7-6 scoreline on aggregate.

Raphinha had put Barcelona 3-2 up on the night in the 87th minute, and with Inter looking like they were being knocked out two minutes into injury time, large groups of supporters left the stadium before Francesco Acerbi came up with an equaliser in the 93rd minute.

That strike took the game into extra-time, where Davide Frattesi produced the tie-settling goal in the 99th minute.

Those who left the stadium before the end of the match were unable to re-enter, which led to mocking from CBS Pundit Thierry Henry after full-time.

As it transpires, Materazzi, who was a starter in the victorious 2010 Champions League final under Jose Mourinho, was among those who tried to leave San Siro before full-time during the Barcelona semi-final.

Fortunately for the former Italy international, he was unable to exit the stadium before Acerbi’s goal, which meant that he was allowed to get back to his seat in the end.

“Everyone was watching that match,” Adani said in a recent episode of Viva el Futbol.

“Marco Materazzi left, they all got up. Dani was there with him. Many from Nike had also left. Everyone went.

“But some had time to return and I spotted Marco sitting next to him again. He didn’t get out of the stadium.”
