Although his goal was cancelled out late on in a 1-1 draw with VfL Wolfsburg this afternoon, 1.FC Heidenheim’s Adrian Beck was still happy with the result on the road.
“A point in Wolfsburg is obviously good. If we had known before the game that we’d take a point here, we certainly could have lived with that,” the Heidenheim midfielder explained.
“Of course, it’s a bit annoying that we were leading for 80 minutes and then conceded an equalizer from a set piece at the end.
“But I think that VfL Wolfsburg were more on the attack in the second half, we have to be honest. We were a bit passive and couldn’t relieve the pressure as much as we needed.
“So perhaps the draw is fair in the end. But it’s obviously frustrating when you’re leading for so long and hoping to keep your first clean sheet in a game, and then you end up with a draw,” he added.
The task at hand next weekend gets even trickier for Frank Schmidt’s men as RB Leipzig visit the Voith Arena on Saturday, 24 January, for a 15:30 CET kick-off.
