Ademola Lookman, Evan Ndicka and Assane Diao are among the Serie A stars who could feature at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off on December 21.
A total of 48 Serie A players could be called up for the Africa Cup of Nations, which takes place in Morocco from December 21 until January 18, 2026.
The countries competing in this year’s edition of the Africa Cup of Nations have already submitted their preliminary squad lists, and will make their final 23-man squad selections by December 11. Players must then be released by their clubs by December 15 at the latest.
49 Serie A players have been included among the provisional squads for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, but one, Napoli and Cameroon’s Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, has already been ruled out through injury.

No Serie A team has had more preliminary call-ups than Lecce or Hellas Verona, who could both potentially lose up to seven players during the tournament. Udinese could potentially be without six first-teamers.
Of the teams currently competing for the Serie A title, Roma are expected to be the worst off, as both Ndicka and Neil El Aynaoui are expected to feature in their nations’ final squads. Napoli were due to be without Anguissa prior to his injury, Atalanta could lose Lookman, Odilon Kossounou and Honest Ahanor, while Milan, Inter, Juventus and Bologna will not be impacted.
