Agent reveals details behind “almost impossible” transfer of Leroy Sané to Galatasaray

The Italian agent revealed the steps he took to ensure Leroy Sané would join Galatasaray.

In an exclusive interview with Sky Germany, football agent George Gardi spoke of his role in bringing Leroy Sané to Galatasaray. 

“Of course, it was difficult. He had offers from top clubs in England and Germany. He had a huge offer from Saudi Arabia.

“I told him that Gala could be a place where he could become one of the leading players. That he would fit perfectly into the system.

“He could win in a place that would give him great emotions and satisfaction – perhaps even with a chance to win something in Europe, something the club had never achieved before.

“I explained to the board that we had to make this transfer very early. If we waited too long, the competition would be even greater and it would be almost impossible to get him,” Gardi added. 

Sure enough, by the beginning of June, the deal was finalized and Sané arrived at the Turkish giants on a free transfer from Bayern Munich. 

After a weak start to the season, Sané has recently shown improving form. His lucrative contract with Galatasaray runs until 2028.
