Alejandro Garnacho celebrates Ruben Amorim’s Man United sacking as he reacts after manager row forced him out in £40m Chelsea transfer

Alejandro Garnacho has liked an Instagram post confirming Ruben Amorim‘s sacking as Manchester United manager.

The 21-year-old Argentine left Old Trafford last summer in a £40million move to Chelsea following a breakdown in his relationship with Amorim.

Tensions between the now-departed United boss and the winger began just one month after Amorim’s arrival, when Garnacho was left out of the squad for the Manchester derby alongside Marcus Rashford.

Despite the early friction, Garnacho managed to regain his manager’s trust as the season progressed, making 58 appearances across all competitions. However, their relationship ultimately broke down as United’s disastrous campaign drew to a close.

After being left on the bench for United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, Garnacho publicly vented his frustration in a post-match interview – comments that would ultimately seal his fate at Old Trafford.

‘Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes – I don’t know,’ he said. ‘The final will influence my decision.’

And there appears to be no love lost on Garnacho’s side, with the Chelsea winger liking a post from football journalist Fabrizio Romano announcing Amorim’s exit from the Red Devils on Monday.

Garnacho’s post Europa League final comments angered Amorim, who unapologetically told the winger in front of the rest of his team-mates just days later, ‘You better hope you have a good agent this summer‘, according to The Athletic.

Garnacho was then welcomed into the Carrington ‘bomb squad’ – consisting of Tyrell Malacia, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony – all of whom were known to have no future at the club under Amorim.

This is a breaking news story. More to follow.
