On loan from FC Bayern Munich, Alexander Nübel is currently in his third season as VfB Stuttgart’s first-choice goalkeeper.

During his time at the MHPArena, there has been ongoing speculation that Nübel could make the move to Stuttgart permanent.

However, as things stand, it doesn’t appear that the 29-year-old will leave Bayern for a permanent move to Stuttgart.

The main reason is that Nübel remains too expensive for Stuttgart: he earns €10 million per year at Bayern, who would demand a transfer fee in the region of €20–25 million.

Instead, Stuttgart are planning for the future with 19-year-old Dennis Seimen, currently on loan at SC Paderborn, as their eventual first-choice goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Nübel’s future remains uncertain. There has been speculation that Bayern’s long-time No. 1, 39-year-old Manuel Neuer, could extend his contract by another year, with Jonas Urbig serving as the preferred backup and expected to take over once the veteran retires.
