‘Almost there’: Chelsea poised to sign 20yo English winger

Chelsea are poised to complete the signing of Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The England youth international has already agreed personal terms over a seven-year contract with the west London heavyweights.

Talks are ongoing over the fee and a transfer could be finalised soon.

Chelsea have a small window to register Gittens if they qualify for the knockout phase of the Club World Cup.

The Blues are keen to capitalise on the same. Romano claims that the club are ‘almost there’ in terms of an agreement.

Chelsea failed with three bids for the winger before the Club World Cup. The final one of those was reportedly at €55m.

The Blues are expected to make an improved offer for the 20-year-old and it should be enough to convince Dortmund.

Gittens may not be the only winger arrival at Stamford Bridge and the club are open to pursuing another wide player too.
