Alphonso Davies is open to signing a new contract offer from Bayern Munich, according to reports.

The Canadian left-back’s deal with the Bundesliga giants expires next summer and talks over an extension have long stalled.

Davies is free to negotiate with clubs outside Germany from January, with Real Madrid favourites to land him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

However, according to the Daily Briefing, Bayern have not given up in their attempts to get the player to renew.

The 24-year-old is said to have told others in the dressing room that he has a fresh contract offer from the German club.

It’s noted that Real are favourites to sign Davies, though Bayern could convince him to stay if they offer a better deal financially.

Manchester United are also said to be keen on Davies but are they to make an offer amid their ongoing problems at left-back.

Luke Shaw has not featured for United since February amid a number of injuries while Tyrell Malacia is only now regaining full fitness after almost 18 months out with a knee problem.

Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui have both had to fill in at left-back for the Red Devils this season.

Davies has established himself as on of the world’s best full backs since joining Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019.

He has made 210 appearances across all competitions for the German giants, scoring 11 goals.

Davies has won five Bundesliga titles in that time, as well as the Champions League and two DFB-Pokal titles.
