Amine Adli: “It’s not easy for me”

Amine Adli has opened up about missing Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah, and Florian Wirtz, admitting that it’s “not easy” for him at the moment.

Bayer Leverkusen have said goodbye to three key figures this summer – Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah, and Florian Wirtz.

More than just important performers on the pitch, the trio also held significant influence within the dressing room. Their departures have hit Amine Adli hard on a personal level, as the three were among his closest friends in the squad.

“In the first weeks of pre-season, I really feel it. I miss them a lot. Because, as everyone knows, I was very close with Jerry, Jona, and Flo. It’s not easy for me now, but I have new teammates,” Adli told Bild, adding:

“I’m very happy for the three of them because they wanted to go where they are now. It’s great for them. I think they’ve made a very good step. I wish them all the best because they are my brothers. That’s part of football. I will always look out for them. When I have time, I’ll visit them or they’ll come visit us. We’ll always stay in contact.”

Looking ahead, Adli also shared his plans for the season:

“First, I want to finish the training camp and play the game on Friday against Flamengo’s U20. I am 100 percent here. I need a full season to find my rhythm again. It’s very important for me to find my happiness. I want to be a very important player for the team and the club. This season is very important to me. I want to have a big impact on the team and play as much as possible.”
