Ancelotti gives one-word response to Brazil rumours in Real Madrid press conference – Football Italia – March 28 latest

“No” – Carlo Ancelotti insists that there has not been any contact with the Brazilian FA (CBF) over a potential appointment as the national team head coach, despite the fact that Dorival Junior is set to be sacked from the position in the imminent future. 

For several years at this point, Ancelotti has been dubbed the ideal head coach of the Brazil national team given his strong links with some of their star players – Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, Endrick, Casemiro and Eder Militao among them. 

However, Ancelotti remains under contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2026, and has maintained his position that he will honour his deal. 

Ancelotti rejects claims he will succeed Dorival Junior as Brazil coach

Reports from several outlets on Friday claim that Dorival Junior is set to be sacked as the head coach of the Brazil national team after a humiliating 4-1 loss against bitter rivals Argentina during the international break. There had also been reports earlier in the week that the CBF had made another attempt to lure Ancelotti away from Madrid. 

However, speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Ancelotti took another opportunity to clarify that he does not intend on leaving Madrid any time in the immediate future. 

He gave a clear and concise response when asked if he had been in contact with Brazil this week: “No.”

He also rejected claims that Ronaldo Nazario had been involved in talks between himself and the Brazilian federation: “I don’t remember talking about that with him. I’ve discussed many things with Ronaldo, but that I don’t remember,” he said, reported via Football Espana. 

Ancelotti continued: “The contract is clear, I have nothing to add to this. I have great affection for the Brazilian national team, their players and their fans, but I have a contract with Madrid. The contract is clear.”
