Real Betis are going to great lengths to keep Antony, who insists that leaving Manchester United was ‘the best decision’ he’s ever made.

The Brazilian has been lighting up LaLiga with the Seville outfit since joining on loan from Man Utd in January. After going a few games without contributing to goals, Antony has bounced back in recent outings.

The 25-year-old netted the winner in Real Betis’ Conference League semi-final first leg victory over Fiorentina last week, while he also found the back of the net against Girona and Espanyol in domestic play.

All told, Antony has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 20 appearances for the Verdiblancos so far. He has looked a man reborn in Andalusia and Betis want to keep this good thing going for as long as possible.

According to ABC Sevilla, the LaLiga side are doing everything in their power to treat Antony like a king in order to convince him to stay beyond this season.

Antony delighted with Man Utd exit

The outlet claims that Antony became the first Betis player to have his house paid for by the club, while they are also covering all the expenses of agent visits.

The player is loving life in Seville, but Betis know that contentment alone won’t seal a deal this summer. Ultimately, Antony remains on the books at Man Utd, and they want cold hard cash – and a lot of it.

The Red Devils reportedly want at least €40 million for the €95m flop, which is a figure Betis simply can’t afford even if they were to qualify for the Champions League.

The Spanish side believe that they can convince Man Utd to sanction another loan, and they hope that Antony will help force through a move. Speaking to Jorge Valdano recently, Antony said: “I always say that the best decision I’ve ever made was coming to Betis.

“I’m happy, and when I’m happy, things go well. For me, of course, it’s important to score goals and provide assists, but being happy is even more important. I found myself here, I’m very happy here, and things are going very well.”

“It’s very early; I don’t know what’s going to happen [this summer], but I’m very happy here. I’ve found myself enjoying football. It’s crazy right now, although I know how talented I am, so I prioritised going where I knew I’d be happy, even though I had better offers.”
