Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham are watching highly rated young Swindon Town defender Ben Head.

Head is another product of the Swindon academy that has made big strides in recent seasons under the direction of former head of football Jamie Russell, who has since left for Salford City.

The teenager was called up to the England U15s camp at St George’s Park last November and has continued to excel.

He has been utilised by Swindon above his age level in the U16s and U18s.

Scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham have all taken a keen interest in the young centre back, who can also play at left back.

They are expected to follow up with further enquiries after making favourable reports.

Mikel Arteta has promised a busy summer of spending as he looks to strengthen his first-team after they were condemned to another season without a trophy.

Work has already begun on the overhaul. Mail Sport reported that their striker targets include RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Victor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon.

At left wing, Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams is their No 1 target while fallback options include AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

They have already lined up Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi and he is expected to replace Jorginho, who is set to join Brazilian side Flamengo.
