Arsenal AND Liverpool plot HIJACK of €65m Man City signing

Arsenal and Liverpool are both keen on Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, according to Italian media.

The Italy international has been in the news a lot over the past few months as he surprisingly emerged as a priority transfer target for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola was keen to add Cambiaso during his January spending spree, but no agreement with Juventus was reached.

However, Man City’s interest remains and it is thought that Juventus will be reluctantly willing to listen to offers in the summer. It has been a dire season for the Bianconeri and they need to raise funds.

The Thiago Motta experiment did not work and the head coach has already been sacked and replaced by Igor Tudor. Juventus are expected to be busy in the market this summer and will need resources for another rebuild.

However, despite this, it seemingly won’t be straightforward for Man City to sign Cambiaso in the upcoming transfer window.

Arsenal, Liverpool join Cambiaso race

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Man City are far from the only side ready to pounce on Cambiaso’s potential availability this summer. The Italian outlet states that the 25-year-old is also being monitored by Arsenal and Liverpool.

Indeed, it is stated the latter, in particular, are keeping a close eye on Cambiaso. This is unsurprising considering that Liverpool vice-captain and starting right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to agree a free transfer switch to Real Madrid imminently.

Cambiaso, who can play on either side of the defence, is one of the names under serious consideration by Liverpool, although he is not the Reds’ only potential Alexander-Arnold replacement.

Bayern are the fourth club credited with an interest in Cambiaso. It is claimed that €65 million could be enough to land the versatile Italy international in the summer.
