Arsenal and Sporting CP stances hand Juventus boost in Gyokeres pursuit – Football Italia

Reports in Italy claim that Juventus have received a boost in the race to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, as Arsenal are not currently likely to land his signature as things stand. 

Gyokeres, who hit 54 goals and 13 assists from 52 appearances in 2024-25, is among the list of strikers Juventus are currently pursuing for the summer transfer window, along with the likes of Jonathan David, Victor Osimhen and Mateo Retegui. 

Dusan Vlahovic is still expected to leave the club, which will leave Arkadiusz Milik as the only contracted, Bianconeri-owned centre-forward in the squad. 

What Arsenal and Sporting stances mean for Juventus and Gyokeres

According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal are not currently likely to land Gyokeres’s services this summer, as they have not yet come to an agreement with the Portuguese outfit. 

Tuesday’s report claims that Gyokeres ‘would already be a Juventus player’ if it were only down to him, as he is ready to accept a reported €8m-per-season contract offer, but the Gunners have reportedly only offered around €60m to Sporting, which has not been accepted. 

Juventus, meanwhile, are prepared to offer a total deal of around €70m, which Corriere dello Sport claims will be made up of a €60m cash offer over multiple instalments, plus around €10m in bonuses. 

That is considered a significant investment for the Bianconeri, who have not spent above €60m on a player since the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina. 

Sporting, meanwhile, are expecting Gyokeres to be sold this summer, and are already close to landing his replacement in the form of Romulo Cardoso from Goztepe.
