Arsenal and Chelsea are prepared to go head-to-head to sign Ajax defender Jorrel Hato this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 19-year-old is one of the best young defenders in the Dutch top-flight, and he could secure a bigger challenge during the summer transfer window.
He has been linked with the Premier League on many occasions and Romano claims that both Arsenal and Chelsea have made calls for him.
They are in a constant dialogue with his representative and formal offers could be made for the Netherlands ace later on this summer.
Ajax are a tough club to negotiate with and they are expected to demand at least €50 million to part ways with the talented wonderkid.
Hato is predominantly a central defender, but he has also impressed at left-back. His versatility would perfectly suit both of his admirers.
Chelsea are keen to bolster the left-back and central defensive positions while Arsenal want to shore up the heart of their defence.
