Arsenal eyeing shock move for Barcelona defender?

Arsenal could make a surprise move for versatile Barcelona defender Jules Kounde this summer, according to The Sun.

The London giants were linked with the Frenchman few years ago, but he chose to join Barcelona from Sevilla instead.

Kounde has continued to remain on their radar and The Sun claim that Mikel Arteta‘s side are weighing up a summer bid.

The Gunners could make a £56 million offer for the 26-year-old, who has primarily played as a right-back at Barcelona.

Kounde has another two years left on his contract and as things stand, the Blaugrana are not close to prolonging his stay.

If the stand-off continues, the Catalan giants could be tempted to accept a huge bid for his services at the end of the season.

A move for Kounde from Arsenal could coincide with a possible exit.

Jakub Kiwior has been linked with a return to Serie A. Kounde could replace the Pole as the back-up centre-back next term.
