Arsenal favourites to sign 52-goal striker this summer

Arsenal are reportedly favourites to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres at the end of the campaign.

The Gunners are expected to land a marquee striker this summer and they have identified their prime target.

Talks are underway with the representatives of Gyokeres and they are in pole position, as per A Bola.

Sporting director Andrea Berta is a great admirer of the striker, who has netted a stunning 52 goals this campaign.

The 26-year-old has a gentleman’s agreement to leave Sporting CP for £60m when the transfer window reopens.

Arsenal have a clear run at signing him but the scenario could change by the end of the ongoing campaign.

If Manchester United were to qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League, they could enter the race.

Manchester City and Liverpool are monitoring his situation and one of them could make an approach too.

Hence, Arsenal can’t take things for granted and need to explore an early agreement during the off-season.
