Arsenal have practically completed deal for 26-year-old star

Arsenal have practically completed the signing of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, according to Cadena SER.

The Spaniard has been a long-term target for the north London giants, but he has been reluctant to leave his boyhood club over the years.

Liverpool reached an agreement with Sociedad for his services last summer, but Zubimendi refused to leave the La Liga outfit.

He is expected to do so this time around and reports claim that Arsenal are in pole position to land his services ahead of other suitors.

Real Madrid recently entered the race for the 26-year-old, but it is unlikely that Zubimendi will make a U-turn on his decision to join Arsenal.

Zubimendi has already committed to the project and Arsenal have ‘practically completed’ a deal to bring him to the Emirates.

Madrid will need to look at alternative options in the transfer market. Arsenal are expected to buy Zubimendi for around £51 million.

He could be one of many signings for the Gunners this summer.
