Arsenal only club in talks to sign 21-goal striker

Arsenal are the only club negotiating with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko, according to Sky Sport Germany.

The Gunners are expected to sign a new centre-forward this summer and Sesko has emerged as the top target.

Talks are already underway between Arsenal and Leipzig’s hierarchy.

Sesko has a release clause worth €80 million in his contract and the Gunners are hoping to negotiate a long-term payment plan with Leipzig.

Manchester United have also been linked with the highly-rated marksman, but they are not in contact with the Bundesliga giants at the moment.

Sesko registered 21 goals and six assists from 45 games for Leipzig last term. He is open to a new challenge after Leipzig did not make Europe.

Arsenal are yet to finalise personal terms with the 22-year-old, but it could be a formality once payment terms are agreed with Leipzig for him.

As things stand, the Gunners are yet to confirm a new signing. They have been widely tipped to land Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
