Arsenal are preparing a second offer worth €70 million for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to Mais Futebol.
The Gunners are determined to sign a new striker this summer and they have identified Gyokeres as one of their top targets alongside Benjamin Sesko.
Mais Futebol recently reported that the club made an opening bid worth €60m that was rejected. They are now lining up a second proposal for him.
Gyokeres has already given the green light to join the Gunners this summer, but a transfer will ultimately depend on the stance of Sporting.
The Portuguese champions are willing to accept a reduced fee than the striker’s €100m release clause, but are set to demand at least €80m.
Arsenal will be hoping to negotiate a lesser price for the former Coventry City man. Manchester United could compete for his services too.
The Red Devils have been in regular contact with the Portuguese champions and are preparing an offer of their own for Gyokeres.
