Arsenal ready to rival Chelsea to sign Victor Osimhen

Arsenal are prepared to go head-to-head with Chelsea in the race to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen at the end of the season.

The Nigerian star has been a key player for Napoli in Serie A, but he has already dropped a big hint that he will be leaving this summer.

Chelsea have been long-term admirers of the 25-year-old, but Mirror claim that the Gunners will provide stiff competition in the pursuit.

Osimhen recently penned a long-term deal with Napoli. As part of the agreement, a release clause of €130m was mutually agreed.

Napoli are braced to lose the striker at that price. Arsenal could have the upper hand over the Blues with the good progress made.

While Chelsea are languishing in the bottom half of the table, the Gunners find themselves right at the top, competing for the title.

There is clearly a power shift in London. Osimhen could prefer a move to the Gunners, who are more closer to winning silverware.
