Arsenal receive major Cunha update as CLUB RECORD bid lined up

Nottingham Forest have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha during the upcoming summer window.

The Brazil international is set to be the subject of significant transfer interest following the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign, with a host of top Premier League clubs eager to secure his signature after an immense season at Molineux.

Cunha has scored 15 goals and provided four assists in 29 appearances across all competitions, and his form has prompted Arsenal to identify him as their first choice alternative to Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.

Manchester United are also monitoring Cunha’s situation at Wolves, while Nottingham Forest are ready to trigger the Brazilian’s €74 million release clause, according to TBR Football.

The 25-year-old would eclipse Elliot Anderson as Forest’s all-time record signing if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side agree to pay his release clause in full, although they are expected to face competition from Arsenal and Man Utd, in addition to Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Forest are reportedly in open contact with Cunha’s representatives and they are expected to launch a pursuit as they look to bolster the attacking options at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest want Viktor Gyokeres

FootballTransfers has been informed that Nottingham Forest are also set to battle for Viktor Gyokeres’ signature this summer.

The Sweden forward has been tipped to leave Sporting CP during the 2025 summer transfer window, and we understand that Forest have joined Arsenal and Man Utd in the race to sign him.

Forest are in contention to seal Champions League qualification following a mightily impressive season in the Premier League, and we have been told that Gyokeres is intrigued by the possibility of moving to the City Ground this year.

The 26-year-old has scored 83 goals in 91 games for Sporting, since his arrival from Coventry City, and he is widely expected to secure a big-money move to the Premier League.
