Arsenal rocked as Man City prepare €100m offer

Manchester City are reportedly preparing a €100 million offer for long-term Arsenal target Arda Guler, who continues to be linked with a Real Madrid exit.

The Turkey international, 20, still has four years remaining on his current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu and he has established himself as an integral member of Xabi Alonso’s first-team squad this campaign.

Guler struggled to play a consistent role under previous boss Carlo Ancelotti, however he has started 14 of Real Madrid’s 16 fixtures across all competitions so far this term and he has already registered nine goal contributions.

He has retained his starting XI spot despite Jude Bellingham’s return to full fitness, but Man City are eager to tempt him to England as they look to add further reinforcements to Pep Guardiola’s squad.

The eight-time Premier League champions purchased Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders to bolster their first-team roster this summer, however they remain keen to improve the midfield options at the Etihad Stadium and Guler has been earmarked as a top target.

That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Man City are willing to pay €100m to sign the Real Madrid star in 2026, with Guardiola understood to be a huge admirer.

Arsenal and Liverpool have also been heavily linked with a move for Guler in recent months, but it appears as though Man City are ready to beat both clubs to his signature next year.

However, Fichajes state that Real Madrid are likely to demand a fee in excess of €100m as they have no intention of allowing the Turkey international to depart.

At just 20 years old, Guler is seen as a pivotal player for Real Madrid’s project and Los Blancos appear far more willing to sell either Vinicius Junior or Rodrygo next year.
