Arsenal are seriously interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike during the summer transfer window, according to BILD in Germany.
The Gunners are expected to sign a marquee centre-forward this summer and they have been linked with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres in recent weeks.
The club have yet to find a suitable transfer agreement for either player and BILD claim that Ekitike has now emerged as a serious transfer candidate for Arsenal.
The Frenchman accumulated 22 goals and 12 assists in the recent campaign for Frankfurt. He is prepared to pursue a bigger challenge away from the German outfit.
Frankfurt have set a huge price tag of £85 million to part ways with the marksman and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will meet the valuation.
The Gunners are reluctant to pay over the odds for any player this summer and the price tag for Ekitike seems excessive, given he is still in the early phase of his career at 23.
