Arsenal handed double injury boost for Forest game

Arsenal are set to receive a double injury boost following the final international break of the year.

The Gunners have had a difficult Premier League campaign and they are currently fourth in the standings.

The club are already nine points behind leaders Liverpool and have a huge task to close the deficit going forward.

Injuries have played a big part in their struggles and manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping for better luck hereon.

Ben White will be sidelined for eight weeks after a knee surgery, but there is good news on two other first-team stars.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Riccardo Calafiori have been sidelined with knee injuries, but they are expected to return soon.

Infact, the duo could be involved in training as early as next week in preparation for the Nottingham Forest game.

Arsenal have an easier schedule on paper during the festive period. They need a long winning run to pile the pressure on the leaders.
