Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah has agreed personal terms with Nottingham Forest, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners striker looks to be on the way out after all. Nketiah initially looked set to join Olympique de Marseille, but the French giants showed themselves unwilling to match Arsenal’s demands.

After rejecting two bids, the north London club lowered their asking price for Nketiah, but by that point, Marseille had already begun pursuing Elye Wahi, eventually signing him for €30 million.

The Marseille move falling through presented other clubs with a chance to act on their interest in the 25-year-old and Nottingham Forest have been at the front of the queue for Nketiah.

On Monday, a first offer for the striker was tabled. Though it was immediately rejected by Arsenal, talks continued and they are now close to reaching a satisfactory conclusion.

Nketiah agrees Forest terms

Earlier on Wednesday, David Ornstein revealed that Forest were close to striking a deal with Arsenal after getting closer to the Gunners’ €35m-€40m valuation. Additionally, they were also making progress in discussions over personal terms with the player.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has broken the news that Nketiah has agreed to a contract with Forest. The Italian transfer expert states that talks are entering the final stages, with Nketiah evidently keen on the move.

The Gunners forward is the Nottingham outfit’s top target for the No.9 spot, though they have also launched – unsuccessful – bids for Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

The Mexican was linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world in the first half of last season, but a lengthy scoring drought meant that clubs refrained from making concrete offers for most of the summer. Now, it looks as though he also won’t be able to join Forest.
