Arsenal striker Kai Havertz has suffered a fresh setback in his recovery from a knee injury sustained at the start of the campaign, according to Daily Mail.
The Germany international suffered the setback during a training session last month and reports claim that he won’t return before the New Year.
Havertz could be available to make the matchday squad against Liverpool on January 8, but the FA Cup third round tie at Portsmouth on January 11 seems a more ideal date for his comeback.
The former Chelsea man had a good first half to the 2024/25 season with 15 goals and looked on course for a 25-30 goal campaign with the Gunners.
However, he picked up a long-term hamstring injury in February, which ruled him out until May. He is now nursing a long-term knee issue.
Havertz sustained the damage against Manchester United on the road in August, and hopefully, he can return next month without any more delay.
