Arsenal are prepared to make a big-money move for Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler in the coming days, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The Gunners had a fantastic summer transfer window with eight signings. They made a huge outlay of more than £250 million on recruits.
The club have one of the best squads in the Premier League, but Fichajes claim that they could make another marquee signing this winter.
Mikel Arteta‘s side are prepared to propose an initial loan deal for Guler with an obligation to buy for around £70 million at the end of the season.
It remains to be seen whether there is any truth to the speculation.
Guler has been a key player under Madrid manager Xabi Alonso this campaign and has been almost ever-present in the starting XI.
It seems unlikely that Madrid will entertain any offers for the 20-year-old. Any decision could be delayed until the end of the season.
