The Gunners are yet to sign a back-up to Bukayo Saka this summer and with Reiss Nelson still linked with an exit, Mikel Arteta is reportedly eyeing a possible move for Coman.

Al-Hilal are also interested in signing Coman, however, and will provide major competition for his signature.

Exclusive: Arsenal to pay Joan Garcia release clause

Espanyol have been informed that Arsenal are ready to match the value of Joan Garcia’s release clause, The Transfers Podcast understands.

As revealed on last week’s Transfers Podcast, the newly promoted La Liga club referred Arsenal to Garcia’s €30 million clause when first asked for a valuation of the goalkeeper. According to a source close to Espanyol, that sum increases to €35m in the final 10 days of the window.

Although the Gunners are still to make a formal offer for the 23-year-old, intermediaries working on the proposed deal have informed Espanyol that the English club “will pay the release clause”.

FootballTransfers exclusively revealed at the beginning of July that Garcia was Arteta’s top priority to bring to the Emirates should Aaron Ramsdale be sold.

Darwin Nunez truth

Darwin Nunez will not be joining Arsenal this summer, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.

The Uruguay international was bizarrely linked with the Gunners on social media, but claims that he will leave Liverpool for north London have now been shut down.

Romano told the Daily Briefing: “ wanted to say something on Darwin Nunez after some surprise stories about Arsenal. I don’t know where this has come from, but I’ve had many questions about this and so I spoke to some of my sources, and I can honestly say there is nothing.

“In general, it’s also not true that Nunez is pushing to leave Liverpool – it’s important to clarify that he is absolutely not planning to leave Liverpool, I can guarantee this.

“He is really focused on Liverpool and really happy with Arne Slot. Of course it will be an important season for him, but it’s never been a possibility for him to leave this summer and he never asked to go.”

Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton

Aaron Ramsdale is undergoing his medical at Southampton ahead of a permanent move to the Saints.

Russell Martin’s side have agreed an initial €21.5m fee for the England international, which could rise to around €30m with add-on fees.

Eddie Nketiah latest

Crystal Palace are expected to announce the arrival of Eddie Nketiah today, after he successfully completed his medical with the Eagles.

Palace agreed a €35m fee for the Arsenal forward after his proposed move to Nottingham Forest collapsed.

Arsenal interested in Ernest Nuamah

Arsenal have expressed their interest in Lyon youngster Ernest Nuamah, according to CaughtOffside.

The 20-year-old only joined Lyon in July, but the Gunners are already eyeing a move and a deal could reportedly be completed for around €45m.

However, Arsenal face competition for his signature, with Fulham also keen, as per The Athletic.
