FootballTransfers runs through the latest Arsenal transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Piero Hincapie and Gabriel Magalhaes.
Piero Hincapie deal agreed
Piero Hincapie will become Arsenal’s first permanent signing of the 2026-27 season, with the Gunners having been sufficiently impressed to take up the buyout option in the defender’s loan deal.
Hincapie arrived in north London from Bayer Leverkusen on Deadline Day in the summer, and with Arsenal “very happy” with the performance of the Ecuador star, they have already been convinced to make the transfer permanent, TEAMtalk reports.
Arsenal will pay Leverkusen another €52m on top of an initial €6m loan fee for Hincapie, who has played 26 times for the club this season.
Gabriel Magalhaes exit threat
Real Madrid have reportedly submitted an initial enquiry regarding a summer deal for Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Brazil international has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in world football over the past few years and his immense form at the Emirates Stadium has attracted the attention of the Real Madrid hierarchy.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who report that intermediaries have made “discreet enquiries” about Gabriel’s situation as Los Blancos look to finalise a blockbuster deal for the 28-year-old.
However, Arsenal have promptly responded to interest in their star man by confirming that Gabriel isn’t for sale at any price, with the Brazilian having recently signed a new long-term contract until 2029.
Francesco Pio Esposito approach rejected
Inter Milan have rejected approaches from Arsenal and Manchester United for Francesco Pio Esposito, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.
FootballTransfers exclusively reported that Pio Esposito has been added to Arsenal’s summer wishlist, although a deal for the Italy striker now looks increasingly difficult to finalise as Inter have no intention of sanctioning a sale.
Honest Ahanor battle
Arsenal are set to battle Chelsea and Man City for the signing of Atalanta centre-back Honest Ahanor this summer, as per CaughtOffside.
The 18-year-old has been earmarked as a top defensive target by all three Premier League clubs and he is expected to be at the heart of a transfer bidding war when the summer transfer window opens.
Arsenal and Man City are both reportedly weighing up bids worth roughly €35m, while Chelsea are keen to agree a deal that would see Ahanor sent on loan before being integrated into the first-team at Stamford Bridge.
Jack Hinshelwood latest
Arsenal are among the clubs keeping a close eye on the development of Brighton & Hove Albion star Jack Hinshelwood, according to CaughtOffside.
The England U21 international, who can play in midfield or at full-back, has impressed since his breakthrough at the AMEX Stadium and his progress is reportedly being monitored by Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Arsenal eye Eintracht Frankfurt defender
Arsenal have added Eintracht Frankfurt right-back Nnamdi Collins to their transfer radar ahead of this summer, as per TEAMtalk.
The Gunners are already tracking the progress of his club team-mate Nathaniel Brown, who is a left-back, and they have now reportedly identified Collins as a potential summer target too.
The north London giants view him as a potential replacement for Ben White, who has been linked with an exit, but they will face competition from the likes of Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle United.
Declan Rice responds to Ballon d’Or speculation
Declan Rice has been tipped to compete for the Ballon d’Or this year, although the Arsenal midfielder insists he must win a major trophy in order to challenge for the award.
“It’s unreal, obviously. You want to be involved in those conversations. They’re the right ones to be involved in,” he told The Sun.
“But also you see the recent Ballon d’Or winners, what they’ve won during their season. Hopefully we can have a successful season and I can be involved in those conversations. That would be amazing.”
