Bayern Munich began their 2025/26 campaign with 16 straight victories in all competitions before being held to a draw by Union Berlin. They remain unbeaten domestically and in Europe, bouncing back from that draw with a commanding 6-2 win over Freiburg at the weekend. While Bayern have scored in every game this season, they have managed just one clean sheet in their last five matches.

Vincent Kompany’s men have been relentless in attack, as demonstrated by their 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain on matchday four, powered by a Luis Diaz brace. However, Diaz will miss Wednesday’s clash through suspension after being sent off just before halftime in Paris. Bayern’s attacking depth was on full display against Freiburg, with Michael Olise directly involved in five of their six goals as they overturned a 2-0 deficit.

Bayern’s only blemish this season is the 2-2 draw with Union Berlin, and while their defensive record isn’t as strong as Arsenal’s—just seven clean sheets in 18 matches—their firepower is undeniable. Historically, Bayern have been a thorn in Arsenal’s side, boasting a five-game unbeaten run against the Gunners, including four wins. Their most recent Champions League encounter saw Bayern narrowly edge Arsenal 3-2 on aggregate in the 2023-24 quarter-finals.
