Arsenal eyeing deal for Dortmund ace?

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck at the end of the campaign.

The Gunners have one of the strongest centre-back pairings in William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, but the latter could be on the move.

Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr are interested in the Brazil international and Arsenal could be tempted to sanction his sale for a huge fee.

Amidst this, Bild claim that the Gunners have Schlotterbeck on their radar and could capitalise if Dortmund can’t convince him to stay.

He has two more years left on his contract. Should the German turn down a renewal, he is expected to be sold in the next transfer window.

Arsenal are not alone in the pursuit of the talented ace. Liverpool and Newcastle are among Premier League sides that could compete.

Dortmund could be willing to accept a fee of around £40m for the centre-back if he has no plans to commit to a new long-term deal.
