Arsenal want to sign Bayern star after Zubimendi

Arsenal are keen on signing Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane on a free transfer, according to The Times.

The Gunners have already reached an agreement to land Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

Zubimendi will undergo his medical this week and he is set to become the club’s first signing of the summer.

Arsenal are likely to make several more additions and The Times claim that Sane has emerged as the next target.

The German has snubbed a new contract worth £150,000 per week at Bayern. His current deal expires on June 30.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta worked with Sane when he was Manchester City’s assistant. He seems keen on a reunion.

It remains to be seen whether a deal for Sane ends the club’s pursuit of a wide attacking player ahead of next season.

The club have been linked with the likes of Nico Williams and Rodrygo. Sane would be a low-profile acquisition.

The 29-year-old has a good track record in the Premier League, but fans may not be pleased if he is the only winger signed.
