Ekitike to join Arsenal?

Arsenal are exploring the potential signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike this summer, according to Bild.

The Gunners are expected to recruit a marquee striker at the end of the season and have been linked with several names.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is one of those on their radar and he could be signed for his release clause worth £67m.

However, Bild claim that the Gunners are more serious about signing Ekitike, who has outscored Sesko this campaign.

The Frenchman has 19 goals and eight assists for his club this term, compared to Sesko’s tally of 17 goals and six assists.

He has also fared better with his distribution and hold-up play. The Gunners could purchase him instead of Sesko later this year.

Frankfurt have set an asking price of £67m. He could be prised away for much less if they miss out on Champions League qualification.

The club are currently fourth in the Bundesliga standings, but are just three points ahead of RB Leipzig and Freiburg with eight games left.
