In his press conference for their meeting with Bayern Munich tomorrow, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta was full of praise for the in-form Bavarians.

“Bayern are in a great moment. The level of consistency, results and performances they’re showing every week is very impressive.

“We know that, but it’s also a big opportunity for us to show what we’re capable of. We prepared well, a short but very efficient one.

“We know the importance of the match. We’re in a really strong position and want to maintain that. We have a beautiful and very demanding game ahead of us.

“This is the kind of opposition we want to face. We’ve been very consistent in both competitions, they’ve been consistent as well. It’s a good test for us,” said the Arsenal coach.

The North London club’s versatile defender Jurrien Timber was equally full of admiration for Bayern when answering questions.

“Even if it wasn’t first against second place, Bayern Munich is a big club, they have a great team, great players, great coach.

“It’s going to be a tough game. Both teams want to press, want to play. It’s going to be an exciting game for the fans as well,” he added.
