Real Betis talks with Inter for Kristjan Asllani have reportedly fallen apart, as he would prefer to stay in Serie A with interest from Bologna and Fiorentina.

There had been suggestions over the last few days that Real Betis sent emissaries to Italy for negotiations with both Inter for Asllani and Milan for Emerson Royal.

Sport Mediaset insist that the attempt for the Albania international has been abandoned, both because the fee offered was too low, but also as the player was unimpressed with the destination.

Instead, he would prefer to remain in Serie A and there are certainly options here too, above all Bologna and Stefano Pioli’s Fiorentina.

Even though he is under contract until June 2028, Inter seem to believe the time has come for Asllani to move on and hope to make it a permanent transfer for €18-20m.

This means any offer should be for a sale, or at least a loan with obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.

A product of the Empoli youth academy, he joined Inter in 2022 for a total €15.7m fee.
