Aston Villa have checked on the progress of Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe as they consider late moves in the window.
It comes as Unai Emery‘s side remain in talks over a move for Middlesbrough’s Morgan Rogers.
Their endeavours to sign the promising 21-year-old were dealt a blow earlier this week after Middlesbrough rejected a second offer for the forward.
Despite that, Villa have subsequently made a third bid for Rogers, who came off the bench to score during his side’s 6-1 defeat against Chelsea on Tuesday night.
Rogers joined Boro in a £1million transfer from Manchester City last summer, and should Villa be successful in their attempts to sign him, Pep Guardiola‘s side will receive a sell-on fee as part of the deal.

Since then, Rogers has impressed for Michael Carrick’s side returning seven goals and nine assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
Mail Sport understands that, Rogers who is valued at around £10m by Boro, is keen to join the midlands club.
Rowe, meanwhile, has emerged as another potential candidate for Villa, with his contract set to expire in 2025.
Having risen through the academy ranks at Norwich, the 20-year-old made his debut for the Canaries back in 2021 and his performances have garnered him the attention of both Villa and Crystal Palace.

Aston Villa could be open to letting Jhon Duran move on if they find a suitable replacement
This season, Rowe has scored 12 goals in 27 Championship appearances for David Wagners side.
He also enjoyed a dream debut for the England U21 side, coming on to score during their 9-1 victory against Serbia in October.
It comes as Villa could be forced to enter the market should they sell striker John Duran, with several clubs, including Chelsea having expressed an interest to sign the Colombian.
Villa have already rejected an enquiry from West Ham for the striker, with Emery’s side wanting to keep him to ensure they had enough attacking options up front. But the midlands club could allow him to leave if they find suitable cover.
