Aston Villa vs PSG viewers blown away as presenter interviews in four languages

PSG’s Champions League quarter-final victory over Aston Villa was an entertaining one after five goals on show at Villa Park, but another exciting aspect was presenter Alex Aljoe conducting interview in different languages

Champions League fans were left stunned by Amazon Prime presenter Alex Aljoe on Tuesday night after presenting interviews in four different languages. Aljoe worked on PSG’s quarter-final victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park and played a prominent role, being seen interviewing Marquinhos in Portuguese after the game.

Aljoe asked the Brazilian defender questions in Portuguese and then translated what he said for watching fans at home, leaving many impressed with her language skills.

Marquinhos was speaking after PSG survived a late scare to see off Villa 5-4 on aggregate, after Unai Emery’s side had come from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 on the night – with PSG holding firm to reach the semi-finals.

Even before the game started, Aljoe conducted an interview in Spanish and was then conversing in French with PSG winger Ousmane Dembele with the same style as she asked him questions in both languages. The TV presenter was also able to speak in her natural English tongue as she spoke to Villa legend Stylian Petrov on the pitch before kick-off.

And fans couldn’t help but lavish praise on Aljoe for expertly interviewing players in different languages before conveying what they were saying in English.

One said: “How good is Alex and absolute credit, really enjoy her interviews in 74 languages!! She’ll be interviewing in klingon next!!”, while another added: “How many languages does she speak and understand? Unbelievable ability.”

A third added: “Unbelievable from Alex Aljoe. I also think that the players are impressed and happy to talk in their own language. The ability and talent to be able to talk and translate at the same time and at such speed is something very special. Amazon Prime are lucky to have Alex Aljoe.”

She even impressed pundit Alan Shearer while talking to him pitchside after she admitted the Newcastle legend had the best seat in the house.

Shearer replied: “I’m just waiting for you, you’ve interviewed in Spanish, Italian and French last night. Why don’t you interview me in Geordie?” Aljoe teased the Match of the Day pundit, as she simply replied: “I might have trouble translating that, Alan!”

The TV presenter was also able to speak in her natural English tongue as she spoke to Villa legend Stylian Petrov on the pitch before kick-off,

This is not the first time Aljoe has earned praise for her incredible knowledge of languages, having conducted an interview with Liverpool star Luis Diaz is Spanish for Amazon back in November after the Reds’ 4-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen.
