Current Atletico Madrid and former Chelsea attacking midfielder Conor Gallagher is the top transfer target for Crystal Palace before the transfer window slams shut on September 1st, as the 25-year-old pines for a return to England and to the team that he had a successful loan stint with in the 2021-2022 season.
Chelsea reluctantly sold Gallagher to Atletico Madrid in 2024, and the attacking midfielder has made 34 La Liga appearances scoring three goals, but wants to return to England already, with Palace his reported preferred next destination.
Crystal Palace are seeking a replacement for Eberechi Eze, and it is understood that most of the £67 million the club received from Arsenal for Eze will be spent on new players, including Gallagher. The fee for the Englishman will be around £41 million, according to reports.
Gallagher is said to be open to an early exit from Atletico, and is excited about the possibility of a move to Crystal Palace once again.
Chairman Steve Parish will fly to Spain to discuss a potential transfer for Gallagher tomorrow.
