The Hungarian defender looks set to return to the Turkish domestic topflight.

Attila Szalai’s move from TSG Hoffenheim to Kasimpasa is considered to be a done deal, Sky Germany reports.

Florian Plettenberg announced this evening that the Hungarian defender will join the Turkish Super Lig club on loan.

Official confirmation will be made public tomorrow, Friday, after the 27-year-old’s medical is completed.

Szalai originally joined the Sinsheim club for a €12.3million fee from Fenerbahçe in July 2023, but never established himself in the first team.

A loan spell at fellow Bundesliga club SC Freiburg fared no better and he joined Standard Liège last January on a 6-month deal.
