Augsburg sign young attacking midfielder from Basel

FC Augsburg have completed the signing of Anton Kade from FC Basel.

Anton Kade has officially been unveiled as a new FC Augsburg player.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder joins the Bundesliga side from FC Basel on a deal running until 2029.

“In Anton Kade, we’ve signed a player who fits our team extremely well. He can play in various attacking roles and, despite being only 21, already has the experience of over 100 competitive games for Basel. With his qualities, he adds a valuable component to our squad,” said Augsburg sporting director Benni Weber.

Kade, who came through the youth system at Hertha BSC before moving to Basel, expressed his delight at the move:

“I’m really excited about returning to Germany. My time in Basel was an important experience for me, but I see FCA as the perfect next step in my personal development. The talks with the coaching staff and the management completely convinced me. My aim is to settle in quickly and enjoy a successful season together with the team.”

During his time in Switzerland, Kade made 107 appearances for Basel, contributing 13 goals and 10 assists.
