Barcelona director contacts Fiorentina for Dodo as contract talks continue – Football Italia – April 9 latest

Barcelona’s director of football Deco has reportedly been in contact with Fiorentina to discuss the availability of Brazilian full-back Dodo, who remains in talks over a new and improved contract with the Viola.

According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, via Football Espana, Deco has been in direct contract with Dodo’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who represents a catalogue of Brazilian talents, including Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes, Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes and Juventus’s Douglas Luiz among others. 

According to Football Espana, Barcelona are looking at the right-back and left-wing positions as areas of priority for the upcoming summer transfer window, as long as regulations allow it. 

While Hansi Flick already has Jules Kounde at his disposal, Dodo is considered a different profile altogether as a predominantly attacking-minded full-back, who often acts as a right winger or forward in possession. 

Fiorentina, meanwhile, remain hopeful of tying the Brazilian down to a new and improved contract. His current deal expires in the summer of 2027, and reports from Calciomercato.com suggest that La Viola are looking to extend that by a further two years. 

There is no agreement either way yet, though, and talks are reportedly set to resume in the coming weeks.
