Barcelona have officially opened talks with Manchester United for Marcus Rashford.
Nicolo Schira reports that Barcelona have offered Man Utd a loan with the option to buy.
United currently are demanding a permanent deal with a transfer fee of €45 million.
In recent days, there have been reports of Barcelona increasing their interest in Rashford, and they have now officially begun talks.
Rashford to Barcelona talks
Rashford is understood to be desperate to make a move to Barcelona this summer, so that could help sway United in negotiations.
Barcelona are in the market for more wide attackers this summer to help take the pressure off Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.
The 27-year-old Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan in January until the end of the season with a reported option to make the deal permanent for around €47.5 million.
However, Villa will not be making the move permanent and he is due to return to United at the end of next month.
The 27-year-old will immediately go on the market as his Man Utd career is over.
He was placed on the market initially in January after the controversial interview with Henry Winter before Christmas.
The attacker admitted that he was “ready for a new challenge” and he was subsequently exiled from the squad before joining Villa.
Rashford impressed at Villa at the start of his loan, earning him a recall to the England national team squad.
In total he managed two goals and four assists in all competitions for Villa.
Rashford has made 426 appearances and scored 138 goals at Manchester United.
He has been capped 62 times by England, scoring 17 goals.
