Barcelona WILL re-sign Neymar if he can do one thing

Barcelona have told Neymar that they are ready to welcome him back to Camp Nou on one condition.

Neymar has signed a short-term contract at Santos after a failed spell in the Saudi Pro League, where injury destroyed his chances of making a positive impression at Al-Hilal.

He has signed a six-month deal in his homeland, with the player’s idea to impress sufficiently to win a contract elsewhere in the summer. At that point, he will be able to leave as a free agent.

Barcelona have confirmed that they are interested in bringing Neymar back to the club, Sport reports, but first they have to be convinced that the player has returned to his peak both in terms of his physical and sporting level after missing nearly 18 months of competitive action.

The message, the Catalan sources says, is that if Neymar can score 15 goals for Santos, the Blaugrana will hold transfer talks with him.

It is no secret that the player is driven by a return to the club that he left in 2017 in a world-record €222 million deal to PSG. Indeed, Sport says that the rumours linking the player with a switch back to Barca have been fuelled by leaks from the player’s entourage.

He wants to return to two reasons. Firstly, he feels he has a personal point to prove, while secondly he believes Barcelona is the ideal club to help him get into the 2026 World Cup squad.

Neymar: Three goals down, 12 to go

There are no talks between Barcelona and Neymar for now.

The 33-year-old has managed to play seven successive games for Santos – which is more than he managed during his whole time with Al-Hilal.

He has three goals and three assists to his credit, meaning he has 12 goals before Barca will be convinced by his form.

For now, Barcelona have a long way to go to believing that Neymar is the player he once was.
