Barcelona may have to wait until 2026 to return to the Nou Camp amid fresh delay to the £1.25billion renovation project.
The LaLiga giants, who had initially hoped to unveil the newly-renovated stadium as part of the club’s 125th anniversary in November, had already pushed back their return to this month.
The club first moved out of the Nou Camp back in May 2023 so they could start the major renovation of their 67-year-old stadium. But there are now fears that they will be forced to continue playing at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Montjuic until January next year.
According to Relevo, the move back into their iconic 105,000-capacity stadium is slated for October 2025 at the earliest. Their report also claims that the istallation of the roof has also been postponed until the summer of 2026.
The delay will provide a further hit to the purse of the Catalan giants, who have been in dire financial straits for a number of years. The costly renovation of the Nou Camp will allow the club to rake in millions.
Revenues at the 54,367 capacity Olympic Stadium are considerably lower than what they will enjoy when refurbishments are finished.

Hansi Flick’s side may have to wait until January 2026 to return to their home, while the installation of the new roof has been postponed until the summer of 2026
The Nou Camp was disembowelled to the bare bones with only a concrete skeleton remaining, removing the entire top tier in order to rebuild the third one and increase capacity by 6,000 seats.
When completed, the Spotify Nou Camp will be the largest sports venue in Europe.
Hansi Flick’s have coped well during their enforced exile and currently top of the LaLiga standings and eased through the Champions League group phase.
The five-time winners face Benfica in the last-16 first leg on Wednesday night ahead of the return fixture next week.
